I don’t paint what I see.
I paint the feeling that stays.

Meet Sara
Former lawyer turned artist, Sara Ashkboos creates immersive paintings inspired by nature, memory and the feelings that linger long after a moment has passed.
After leaving a career in law in 2019, she gradually found her way back to painting. She was drawn to colour, stillness and the emotional atmosphere of the natural world.
Her work is less about depicting what she sees and more about capturing what remains.
From Feeling to Form
My paintings usually begin with something that catches my eye: a colour, a shape, an unexpected composition, the way light falls across a scene, or simply a feeling I want to hold onto. A photo can become the starting point, but it is never the destination.
As I work, the painting begins to take on a life of its own. I build slowly and intuitively, allowing colour, movement and memory to shape what emerges. I’m not trying to recreate nature exactly as it appears, but to capture what remains afterwards: the atmosphere, stillness and feeling of having been there.
Art in Spaces
Paintings have a different presence once they leave the studio.
Placed within a home or professional space, they can bring colour, atmosphere and calm, becoming part of the environment rather than simply something on the wall.
